ThaFormula's
legendary King of Kings Mc Battle made its 2006 debut
and it was bigger than ever, sponsored by Sprite, Def
Jam and URB magazine. 60 MC's from Northern to
Southern California converged at 33Third Los Angeles
Records in LA for Vol. 1 of the event that would
crown the winner of the first Episode of the 2006 King of
Kings MC Battle, make him $500 richer and in
possession of the much sought after MC Title Belt.

2005
reigning champ I-Suppose was back in the building to
defend his title and quickly made his way through each
of his rounds, but ran into some trouble in the finals
against NoCanDo, who after a bonus round demanded by
the judges, took home the cash and the belt.

Neither
of the MC's had an easy journey to the finals, even
though there were more weak MC's then skilled. Some
MC's that brought their A-Game and showed some hunger
for the title were Lady DJ (the only female in the
event) who just missed making it to the finals after a
heated, controversial loss in the semi-finals,
Genocide, and King James.

Aside
from the many hungry MC's, there was a Hip-Hop legend
in the spot. Prince Po of Organized Konfusion blessed
the crowd of nearly 200 with a couple new joints and
words of inspiration for the aspiring MC's. DJ's Lord
Ron (ThaFormula/Zulu Nation), AC the Program Director
(HipHopPhilosophy.Com/AirGrafx) and Maskilz provided
the beats, and judges from Def Jam, and the Boondocks
handled the extremely difficult job of deciding the
winners.
