On Friday, December 12th 2004, ThaFormula closed out the year with another classic in-store appearance featuring Defari, Brother J of X-Clan, The Pharcyde and KK of 2nd II None.

The event was hosted by AC the Program Director (who also spun the classics) and beats were supplied by DJ Lord Ron of the Zulu Nation. In typical Formula fashion, the event jumped off with an open mic where MC after MC took their turn behind the steel. Triple Ace from LA and Lil' Sci of Scienz of Life and Sol Uprising stole the show and raised the bar for all other MC's in the house as they came off the top with verse after verse of heat.

The crowd let Brother J know he his presence has been missed as he entered the event to a round of applause. Wasting no time at all, he jumped behind the mic and ripped through his classics, "Heed the Word of the Brother" and "Grand Verbalizer," and introduced some exclusive new material from his upcoming solo LP.

It's been a minute since 2nd II None blessed us with a new LP, so KK re-introduced himself (backed by DJ Seedless on the 1's and 2's) and blazed through classic material from 2nd II None's debut LP like "Be True to Yourself" and "If You Want It." KK also introduced some new solo material that you'll be able to pick up real soon.

As the crowd grew and anticipation for Defari's appearance rose, the Torrance Police Department began making their rounds. To make matters worse, a couple female fans decided to knuckle up and throw down in the parking lot right in front of the boys in blue. Needless to say the event was brought to a close before Defari could make his appearance and the event was shut down early.

Ladies, can't we all just get along?
